DDR5 RDIMM 5600 vs 6400 for server memory inquiries
Transfer rate is only one field in a server-memory requirement. The platform QVL, capacity, module type, complete PN and installed population still matter.
What should a buyer confirm?
Do not choose a 5600 or 6400 MT/s RDIMM only by the higher number. Confirm the server and processor generation supports the requested rate, check the platform QVL, preserve the full Samsung PN and describe the existing DIMM population when matching an installed system.

Why transfer rate alone is insufficient
A module’s advertised transfer rate does not prove that a particular server will run it at that rate or accept it in a given population. Server generation, processor memory controller, firmware and the manufacturer’s memory population rules can affect the supported configuration.
Before choosing a 5600 or 6400 MT/s module, confirm the complete PN against your server documentation or qualified vendor list and check the supported speed for your processor and DIMM population.
Describe the installed memory when expanding a server
For an expansion request, include the current module PNs, capacities, quantity and slot population if available. That context is more useful than asking for “DDR5 64GB” without identifying the existing configuration.
For a replacement, copy the full label PN and suffix. For a new system, include the server model and planned capacity per node. These details keep the inquiry precise while the final platform validation remains with the buyer’s server documentation.
